“Yasuko’s Let’s Enjoy Thailand – Phuket Special” #03 Red Mountain Golf Club
I heard this was “the most exciting golf course in Phuket”, and it was just that, if not more.
Built over an old tin mining site, Red Mountain Golf Club features bare hills, some areas in which exposed red soil can be seen.
As light hits the mighty ravine, and shadows weave a marvelous picture, I find myself entranced, just gazing.
The use of pesticides is kept to a minimum in order to protect wild birds, but you’ll never guess it from the pristine level of upkeep. From bunker to green, the handiwork is pervasively apparent.
Your rounds will feel private and intimate, with no overlapping layouts throughout the 18 holes, all while being surrounded by forest trees and mountains.
The astounding scenery will be etched into your mind and the diverse range of holes will keep the round exciting. All-encompassing and demanding for all levels, this course gives the overcoming golfer a chance at the pearly gates. It’s a course that has become a landmark for being “the most exciting course in Phuket”.
Thailand Golf Travel Mart 2018（TGTM2018）
The reason I came to Red Mountain Golf Club this year was to participate in the TGTM 2018, an annual event hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. This event was organized to put a spotlight on Thai golf courses and resorts, and was attended by representatives from travel agencies, golf courses, hotels, and media from over 30 countries. According to 2016 statistics, over 400,000 golfers visit Thailand yearly, generating 4.88 billion baht (approx. JPY 17 billion) in tourism revenue. This helps the initiative to promote Thailand as an ideal location for golfing.
Only 30-minutes from Phuket International Airport, 15-minutes from Phuket Town, or 10-minutes from Patong Beach, this club is easily accessible and is ideal for travelers with not a lot of spare time.
