“Tadaharu’s Fine Shot in Thailand” – Chiangmai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort

We’re finally here at Chiangmai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort! Only a 45-minute drive from the city, Asian Golf Awards 2015 awarded Thai’s finest resort with their “Best Golf Resort in Asia Pacific” (Top 3 in Asia) ranking. It also ranks among one of the best golf courses in Chiang Mai, making it a must when visiting Chiang Mai.

Among the Top 3 Golf Resorts in Asia Pacific

A total of 27 holes are available in 3 courses with 9 holes each – Valley Course (A), Highlands Course (B), and Mountain Course (C) – of which, course B is considered the toughest.

The lake sits along the left side. Long hitters should take caution.

The B Course also has extensive greens.

Another characteristic of the Chiangmai Highlands is its numerous bunkers. If you get caught in one, you might find yourself in a downward bunker-to-bunker spiral.

Caught in a bunker hell catch-22. This is probably the actual “hazard” they were talking about.

Another shot of bunker hell. The fairway bunkers are quite deep, so staying on par will get really hard if you drop into one of these. It’s not in Asia’s Top 3 for nothing.

As accurate shot is crucial, you might want to completely avoid this bunker if you want to up your score.

This is where I would usually talk about the clubhouse and the villas, but since Yasuko has reported on this already, I’m just going to go ahead and introduce the long-awaited caddies.

All smiles while getting a ride in the golf cart. Can you make me out?

Alright, this way please. The hospitality here gets two thumbs up.

And how could I leave out the food? The Tom Yum soup here wasn’t overly spicy. It was delicious, with just the right balance between sweet and sour from the lemon grass.

I requested a special order of noodles added to mine.

The Chiangmai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort provides the kind of views, courses, and hospitality that you just can’t find in Japan. I’d love for you to experience the bliss I felt at this extraordinary course.

One of the best resort courses in Thailand, where both the golf course and Tom Yum soup is hot n’ spicy!
