The course opened in 1996, and designed by Dennis Griffith who has designed many courses around the world. Since the golf club has originally made for the purpose of hosting the 1996 World Cup Golf, it hosted the Honda Classic in 1997 and Tiger Woods achieved the first overseas victory in this competition. The Volvo Masters and other tournaments were held from 2005 to 2008, and the course has been so popular as the championship course in Asia.
The course is flat and fairly straight, and very comfortable to play. Still, there are exquisite undulations in the fairways, and the ponds and bunkers are skillfully placed increase its difficulty.
The prestigious course also features the elevated greens. Since the green always keeps its condition at the top level, considerable skills are required for the approach shots.
This is the No. 18 that you can see the the clubhouse at the back of the green. Even though it is a straight hole, if you hit the tee shot to the right, the trees would get in the way and it would be tough to get on the green on second shot. There are many holes in the Thai country club where course management is needed.
The clubhouse with plenty of sense is not spectacular, but the hospitality of the club is fantastic, you can feel the prestigious atmosphere.
It is approximately 50 minutes from the center of Bangkok, but it is approximately only 30 minutes by car from the Airport. It is good to arrive in Thailand and directly go to the course, as well as play just before returning home. The good access is attractive part for this golf club.
