It takes about 105 minutes by car from Bangkok city. It takes about 75 minutes by car from Suvarnabhumi airport. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Pattaya city.
Siam Country Club Old Course is a prestigious golf course created by the founder of Siam Motors and Thailand's automobile king, Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha.
It was opened in 1971 and designed by Japanese course architect Ikkai Izumi. The course has a history of more than 40 years, and redesigned by Mr. Lee Schmidt of the Schmidt-Karlay Design Office in 2007, and has a challenging layout which golfer enjoy its thrilling traps set up everywhere while having a Japan-like atmosphere.
The golf course has been the venue for the Honda LPGA Thailand of the LPGA Tour since 2007, and the victory of the former world No.1 female golfer Ai Mitazato at the tournament in 2010 still remain the memory for many golf fans.
